After many conversations to sort out the delivery State and that I required a enclosed carrier,I was quoted $511.00 USD I was told to book right away even though my payment had not been received by the seller abd border requirements had also not been met either.I was assured that that the vehicle would NOT be picked up by a carrier till I gave the ok.I received a call out of the blue that the vehicle was to be picked up that afternoon Feb 25 I told Tony that I had not yet met with border requirements and that I could not export the vehicle into Canada as of yet.Later that afternoon I recevied a call from the actual carrier that he did pick up the vehicle and was headed for the Michigan border. This gave me 15 minutes to get to the bank for US funds to pay the carrier.Upon contacting Tony at Magic Carpet Auto Transport i was assured that that the vehicle HAD NOT been picked up.After contacting the carrier myself he once again at 8 pm confirmed that he DID have the motorcycle and he would be in Michigan around midnight. The urgency forced upon me left me with no time and I had to use an open pickup truck to transport a motorcycle in a snowstorm home from the border a 250 kilometer trip. The carrier met me in Michigan at around 2 am Feb 26 and was extremely helpful in offloading and reloading. The carrier cost suddenly was inflated by $56 USD.At 8 am I was refused export of the motorcycle by US Customs.Faced with another 24 stay in the US I attempted to cross the border a couple of hours later and managed to get myself and the motorcycle into Canada. After arriving home and washing and detailing the motorcycle for a few hours to remove any corrosive salt and road grimeI finished my 36 hour day.I am sure I could have shipped this motorcycle for hundreds of dollars less using another company.I received no explanation of the inflated shipping cost.Almost all internet information sent from Magic Carpet was incorrect or out of date .When the crisis hit I was left to incurr long distance phone expenses and left scrambling to make the connection in Michigan to accept the motorcycle.I feel that Magic Carpet Auto Transport really dropped the ball on a lot of levels and then INFLATED an already over priced service.

Ken, what can I say...I apologize for your experience in getting your motorcycle shipped. The available ship date that you originally gave me when we set up the order was what triggered the pick up. When you called back to change the pick up date, I did in fact put that into the order, but for some reason, it was not recognized and a truck was deployed. In terms of an inflated price, I'm not sure where you are coming from. Your quote of $511 for an enclosed carrier is what you agreed to pay after getting quotes from "a lot" of other companies. Even though this transport didn't go as planned and I wish we could start all over and show you how the process normally plays out, you still only paid the amount that you were originally quoted, which is $511. Again, I apologize for the early pick up and I hope you know that I did everything I could to make the best out of a bad situation. Best of luck with your bike.
