Seems Like Extortion to Me!

I had a contract with M2Reeves on May 13 for the car to be picked up no later than June 18. Given their statement that the car would be picked up within at least 10 days, I assumed all would go well. I didn’t realize however, that they would not begin trying to locate a carrier until 10 days prior to the deadline. Having never received a call as the deadline approached, I called them 7 days prior to the scheduled pick up only to be told that they had not yet located a carrier but would have one by the agreed upon deadline and would contact me. Having still not received a call by a day before the deadline (the day before I was vacating our home and moving our belongings), I called M2Reeves only to be told that they still had not located a carrier and suggested that they still might have one identified by the next day. Upon calling the final day before my move and explaining that I had to vacate the home the next day, Melanie informed me that “For an additional price, they could arrange to locate a carrier for me.” If that is not extortion, I don’t know what is! I was never informed in advance that by choosing the “Rock Bottom Price” they might not be able to pick up the car by the June 18 deadline I had indicated (more than a month after the contract was issued). While it is true that my money was refunded when I informed them that I would not be a party to extortion, I was stuck trying to locate a new carrier a day before I had to move, without even an apology from anyone at M2Reeves. In short, I cannot recommend this company.

Mike picked our rockbottom rate wheras about 90 percent of the vehicles are picked up within 10 days of the first available date given which was 6-9. We do offer expedited opitons with guarranteed pickup dates. Mike knew he could expedite at any time. On 6-18 Mike cancelled. We never charged him a penny and we have no cancellation fees. We are sorry we could not move his car faster due to the remote pickup location.
