After doing extensive research online to find a RELIABLE AND ETHICAL auto transporter to transport my new car from New York to Los Angeles, my car was transported with a company called CAA Transport. At 10pm at night some driver who barely spoke English met me in a parking lot to pick up my car. He was several hours late. In a dark parking lot he insisted that I pay him an extra $150 in cash because I had a few items in my trunk. I was 300 miles from home so I had no choice but to pay him.
The car was supposed to arrive 7 days later in Los Angeles. After it did not arrive we began calling CAA Transport asking where it was. They claimed not to know. Each day for the next 4 days they claimed the car would arrive but it never did. Finally it arrived scratched all over, dented on the front hood and driven 13 miles. CAA Transport has refused for 3 months to disclose where the car was driven for 13 miles and by whom, and they have yet to process an insurance claim for the damage. Instead they claim that their driver has his own insurance and he is an "independent contractor" So now they subcontract to some guy named Mr. Yoon! Interesting way to avoid liability! And you guessed it, Mr. Yoon, cannot be located and does not ever return a call to his cell phone which has no voice mail set up!!
Anyone out there looking to transport a car anywhere would be well advised to look out for those companies.
