Like many others who have written reviews, I was reluctant to use ANY broker/trucker. I was concerned that once I signed the contract and the vehicle was picked up, delivery time was totally out of my control. My concerns turned out to be justified.
Our 2000 4Runner was supposed to be picked up on Monday May28th with a window of Tuesday/Wednesday. When the trucker (F & S out of tucson) did not show up by Tuesday afternoon and I didn't get a phone call, i decided to call Blue Star. They gave me the number to F & S and I called there. The dispatcher told me that the actual driver should have contacted me by then and he would immediately get the driver to call me. The dispatcher also gave me the truck drivers phone #. The driver did call me shortly thereafterand apologized and said he was running late and would not oick up our 4Runner until Thursday night May 31. The driver did say he would still get the truck to Tucson by Sunday which was our original target date. Chuck did arrive at 10 PM on Thursday to load the 4runner. He was very pleasant and competent. He even offered to meet my son at Tucson airport on Saturday night when he arrived by airline. At that point, I was very optimistic and didn't mind that the vehicle was picked up late.
The next day (Friday) we got a phone call at 6 PM from the driver that his truck broke down in Tenn. He thought the engine was damaged and he would not have more info and an ETA until Monday. I called the broker Blue Star to get them involved in this mess. Blue Star did offer to contact the trucking co. and try to change truckers to get the 4Runner out to Tucson. Eventually, F & S sent another truck to get the trailer and the Vehicle finally arrived tonight (June 8).
In summary, Blue Star and F & S were accesible and honest in their dealings with me. The truck did break down which was beyond their control. I was disappointed and unhappy with the dealys and the extra days needed for delivery.Neither Blue Star nor F & S offered a refund or discount. They felt the vehicle was delivered within the "window" which they claim is 7-10 days for the distance covered. The vehicle did arrive in the same condition it left and the trucker did meet my son at a convenient time and place.Had the truck not broke down it would have been a very good experience.
