On 11/17/2004 I received a telephone solicitation from “Harold” at Air, Land and Sea Auto Delivery Corp to transport my vehicle from a Fairfield, Ohio car dealership to my mechanic John in San Francisco, California, for $840. The sales order (#200513) stated an estimated pickup date of 11/22/2004.

A week after 11/22/2004 the car dealer in Ohio reported to me that my car had not been picked up. I called Air, Land and Sea, and after four or five calls, finally spoke with a dispatcher who gave me an estimated pickup date for the first week of December 2004. On 12/02/2004 the car dealer reported that my vehicle had been carried away.

Currently it is 01/31/05 and my vehicle has not been delivered. In the interim period between the time my car was picked up and now, I have called Air, Land and Sea on at least two dozen occasions to inquire about the delivery. In that process:
1. The customer service phone lines have been busy entire days at a time
2. I was placed on indefinite hold on multiple occasions
3. I was hung up on numerous times
4. I was told to leave a message, I would be called back repeatedly (never happened)
5. I was told the computers were down for an entire week, no information was available
6. I was told not to worry the car will be coming soon
7. I was told the car was on a carrier and would be delivered by Christmas
8. I was told the car was on a carrier and would be delivered after Christmas
9. I was told the car was on a carrier and would be delivered the first week of January
10. Most recently I was told the car was still sitting in a terminal in Ohio.

The only accurate information available concerning Air, Land and Sea Auto Delivery Corp is that the company is staffed by disingenuous incompetents. The company information states “We have been in the auto transport business for the past 20 years, with the knowledge and experience to transport your vehicle with the dependability and satisfaction that you deserve.” What a pathetic misrepresentation of the truth that is.

On 12/01/04 ALS issued a pick-up order to have my vehicle towed and stored at Backscheider Transportation & Towing. ALS then failed to “designate a reliable carrier (agent ) to fulfill the terms and conditions” of the agreement, resulting in significant towing and storage fees (over $900). My agreement with ALS authorized shipping, not towing and storage, of my vehicle.
