Hi Everyone,
I would like to tell you a unfortunate "true" story about a student who got cheated by Air, Land and Sea.

I want people to know the true color of Air, Land and Sea (ALS), so people do not make the same mistake as I do.

I just graduated in December and planed to move from Ohio to LA right after my graduation.
My parents did not want me to drive to LA, since it is the snowing season in Ohio, therefore I was looking for a car shipper for my car.
Due to lack of experience, I only gave my information to "123 Mover" website without doing further research.
Then many shipping company sent me info by email and called me in person, among them was Air, Land and Sea.

On Dec 6 The salesman named "Tony" convinced me to sign a contract with them for $815 and he promised the car would be picked up between the 13th to 15th of Dec. Tony was very sincere when we talked, so I believed him and paid $200 deposit. Then they told me I would receive my contract by email. However, I had never received it, then I kept on trying to reach them by phone but usually it was hard to get though. Couple times when I actually get though, the poeple told me that "we will fax the contract to you and DON'T WORRY your car will be pick up on time." Therefore, I believed in ALS.

But by the 13th, I still had not received the contract and the driver is no where to be found. I was terribly worried since I was leaving on DEC 20. I called ALC approximately 50 times in the following few days, but only got through few times. Then I found out, my contract was NOT EVEN BEEN DONE, since my name was not on the list of cars to be picked up!!!
Can you believe it!!!
That means the salesman "Tony" DID NOT DO ANYTHING between the DEC 6 and DEC 13 after taking my $200 deposit!
In other words, he LIED to me!

I eventually got my contract and they told me, the driver was on his way to pick up the car. Guess what! The driver did not show up at all. Without much choice, I had to leave my car with my friend and took off for Los Angeles on the DEC 20.

After arriving LA, I had to get a rental car for $165 per week with the insurance. It is approsixmately $250 per week.

Air, Land and Sea kept on telling me the car will be picked up before Christmas. But just like the first two times, no truck, no driver and no nothing.

After Christmas, it was still hard to get a hold my ALS, they probably all went on vacations and forgot about thier customers.

After New Years, Jan 2 or Jan 3, I got a phone call from ALS, they said the driver would be in Columbus that afternoon.
But the driver did not call my friend in advance and my friend was actually not at Columbus, he was in Cleveland. I was in LA, I cannot do anything a that time. Then I found out, they copied down the wrong cell phone no. of my friends. Everything can go wrong actually went wrong in this case. They said they would try to make the driver wait, but that did not happen either.
That was my closest chance of getting my car shipped out.

Later, the "sales manager" told me the driver would come on the JAN 8 or 9. I asked him "are you serious this time?" He answered, "yes." Again, the same old story "no truck" on the 10th.

Then I talked to their customer service manager, George, I suppose. George told me my car would be picked up on Friday, Jan 14, for sure. This time was not any different than before, no truck still.

So I talked to Geroge again, he was very apologetic and said the driver will definitely come on the Jan 17. I waited again, but I did not see any truck. Again, ALS lied.

Now they told me my car will be pick up today, Jan 20. I have given up on ALS, I don't believe those cheaters anymore. There is no truck coming. I am looking for another company to do the job for me.

My plan was to rent a car no more than two weeks after arriving in LA, now I have rented the car for four weeks and about to going to my fiveth week. I have spent around $1000 on rental car, this is true since I bought insurance from the rental company.

I talked to "George" about the situation and argued with him for compensation, but he did not want to offer anything. I said I need at least $150 deduction from the total cost, but George said "we don't make that much." ALS can just disregard your contract like nothing, which is quite amazing.

Few bad things of Air, Land and Sea.
1. They work only till 4:00 pm eastern time, which is unbelievable.
What kind of company only work till 4:00pm?
It is hard for people when they are on the west coast like myself.

2. They will always tell you, the driver is coming to make you feel better, but they were not telling the truth. They just want you to get off the phone. In other words, they lied to customers.

3. Their salesmen will promise you the whole world to make you sign with them. They don't care if they can actually provide the service. They talk you into the contract and take your money, then forget about you.

Overall, I think Air, Land and Sea don't not have enough truck or trucking company to work for them. However, they are still taking more business than they can handle. Air, Land and Sea does not care about thier customers.

Ladies and gentlemen, please listen to my advise "Never ever ship your car with Air, Land and Sea."

This is a true story of a poor college graduate.
