I received a quote of $680 from Worldwide Autotransport (www.worldwideautotransport.net) to transport my car from Alabama to California. I called the salesperson at the time, Justin, to go ahead and place my order and deposit of $135. Justin was very nice and courteous and explained that my car would be picked up in 2-3 days and arrive at my destination in 5-7 days. I received a confirmation email and a follow-up call from Justin to let me know that he will be calling me back with the driver's name and cell number prior to pick-up.
Three days later, I received no call from Justin. So, I decided to be proactive and call his direct line and another sales associate answered his line telling me that Justin has been fired for giving out inaccurate quotes and that my order was invalid and that I would have to pay more to get my car shipped. Instead of arguing with this new sales associate, I asked to speak with the Manager there. He gave me their Manager's, Damien Williams, direct line (239-265-4107).
Here's where everything went down hill! I explained to the Manager, Damien Williams, what had transpired with my order: 1.) I received an online quote (13820-ZQ) for $680. 2.) I placed my order and paid my deposit of $135. 3.) I got a confirmation email and call from salesperson, Justin. 3.) I was told that my car would be picked up in 2-3 days. 4.) After receiving no call on the 3rd day, I called them. 5.) Another salesperson alerted me that my order was invalid because the salesperson, Justin, had misquoted me, and therefore they had to fire Justin for his wrongdoings.
I further explained to Damien (the Manager) that had I not called when I did, no one would have alerted me to this new development, and that my order was simply dropped. I also explained to Damien that it's not MY fault nor MY problem that your salesperson misquoted me and was subsequently fired for his actions. Without ANY kind of apology, Damien then scolded me in a very patronizing manner, "Lady, there is NO WAY anyone will transport your car for that low of a price! You can either pay the higher price or go somewhere else!" I was shocked mainly at his indignant tone with me. I was fully expecting some sympathy on my behalf for being misquoted, and some resolution that will keep me happy as their customer. I even gave Damien a chance to redeem himself by asking him, "So, you're basically telling me that you are NOT willing to work with me in retaining me as your customer even though I was clearly wronged by being misquoted by your salesperson in the first place?!" Damien became even more irate and yelled back to me, "Stop putting words in my mouth! That's not what I said!" I then asked him, "What exactly are you saying to me then?" Damien then says defiantly, "Are you going to stop putting words in my mouth?!!"
At this point, it became VERY clear to me that this was NOT going to be any type of rational negotiation/resolution, but rather a very confrontational horrible "bitch-slap" to me, a paying customer who was wrongly misquoted and mistreated.
Needless to say, I want to make it known to the general public to BEWARE of using Worldwide Autotransport's services (www.worldwideautotransport.net)!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND transporting your car with them. This is the way they treat their customers even though it is not the customer's fault! They DO NOT care about the customer, especially their Manager, Damien Williams.
Sincerely,
Wendy C.
