DO NOT USE this company. I have posted this on Movingscam.com also. I just want to increase awareness so people don't fall in the same trap. This company only obtained their MC# in Dec, 2006 and have lied about the 1000's of vehicles shipped last year without complaints, which they boasted over the phone.

I recently sent my $200 deposit to them ("Ben") and cancelled my order 6 days later after I found a company (DAS, a carrier) that could guarantee a future ship date. VIP (a broker) gave a 7-day pick-up window only. After sending my deposit (regretfully in hindsight), I kept calling VIP to see if a carrier has been designated b/c I needed to change the ship date and they kept saying "Not yet".

So after I called to cancel my order they (now "Jerry", no more "Ben"- seriously, not intended to sound funny although it does seem silly) said they would not refund my entire deposit of $200, but only $100 b/c I had exceeded their "24-hr cancellation policy". BTW, they have no such policy in writing in their Terms and Conditions. In addition, they said that somehow a carrier was already found and booked (this is in their policy that if carrier/truck is reserved then a $100 cancellation fee applies). I asked them to provide evidence and documentation of the carrier and pick-up schedule and they couldn't or refused. They knew I had repeatedly called and asked whether a carrier had been booked and only revealed this (which I don't believe still) after I decided to cancel.

This company is a scam and I would not trust them. I have disputed the charge with my credit card and also filed a complaint with the BBB of New York.

The customer was advised at inception that there could be no guaranteed shipping date, only that we could pickup the vehicle on the date requested at an extra charge [per paragraph#1 of the terms and conditions] which the customer received but evidentally never read. If the customer would have read all the paperwork sent to him, he would have realized that there would be a cancellation fee. Subsequently, this customer wrote an entire artcle about VIP, etc, which did not even pertain to the shipping of his car, it was totally slandering, as a result we are in the process of suing this customer for slander. No one in this business can make guarantees, since the brokers do not own the trucks, that is why we need a window for pickup. You should be aware that the new york attorney that you have talked is presently being sued by several people for slander and defamation, there reputation is nothing but garbage and should not be relied upon.
