I used this site to select a carrier for my move to California. Like many others, I thought these reviews must be bogus. How could a company (Specialty Mobile) have almost ALL 5 star reviews? I thought it had to be fixed.

After further research, and looking at the ratings of other companies, I concluded that the reviews might be legit. So I gave them a try. I expected at least a quote higher than anyone else. I had gotten 5 other quotes, and the quote I received from Specialty was the second lowest quote of all of them. (Note: I was impatient and tried calling them for a quote before my "automatic electronic quote" came to me. The quote I received over the phone for the exact same move was $200 MORE than the automated one their site gave me. So don't call them - use the online quoting tool).

I hired Specialty to move my Mercedes CLK 55 AMG. They called within 24 hours and said they would pick it up that very day. I was blown away....however, they didn't pick it up and I didn't receive another call for 2 days. But that's ok because I didn't expect them to pick it up within 24 hours anyway.

The driver called two days later and said he'd be there that night. He ran into traffic in Chicago and didn't actually arrive until about 11:45 pm, which was also fine with me...I was up packing anyway. He had a nearly full load and couldn't fit my car on his trailer. However, he was extremely nice and accommodating, and called back to his home base. Somehow, he got authorization to dump one of the other cars on the trailer and put mine on instead. He said they would send someone else to pick up this other car. A bit odd, but I certainly didn't complain!

I then got in my other car and drove to CA myself as fast as I could. I only stopped once to sleep, and somehow this driver still beat me to CA. He called me when I was still in Sacramento and said he was ready to drop my car. I told him I wasn't ready so we scheduled for the next day. He dropped the car off in San Carlos next day, and it was as good as new, save for some enormous bird droppings that must have come from pterodactyls.

The driver was extremely helpful, kind, polite, and accommodating. He was a hard-working guy from Czech Republic, and I enjoyed speaking a little Russian with him.

I would definitely use these guys again. They were cheap, fast, and did a perfect job.
