This was my first time of transporting a car and now I know why I have not done it before. They all lie to you and tell you they will pick your vehicle up in 10 days to get your money, after that, they don't give a crap. This was my second carrier for this job. AAAction auto movers told me 5 days and after 21 days I called Cory. I explained my situation and he assured me that they would pick the car up in 10 days. I asked twice because I was going to go somewhere else if they couldn't. He said yes, he had his own trucks and they could pick it up so I paid my money, 10 days come and go and no pickup. I called him everyday starting from the 8th and all I got was excuses about how he didn't know why no one had picked it up. They finally picked it up on the 15th day after many calls on my part, the only time he called me back was the day he found someone to pick it up. Too make a long story short, I bought this car on Oct 20th and I received it Dec 15. Thank goodness I had a very patient seller. I will say that all this wait WAS NOT ALL Specialty Mobiles fault. I waited three weeks for the previous carrier. I gave Specialty an average rating because the young fellow that did pick the car up did a good job. Cory was polite on the phone but being told a bunch of BS politely still doesn't make up for it. I was at the point where I told him I was going to drive to WI and pick the car up myself then he found a carrier.

For those that don't know, most of these companies don't own trucks. They take your deposit and post your order on the internet for actual trucking companies to look at. They quote 10 days because that is USUALLY how long it takes but not always. They really have no control after the posting. They told me they use 40 some different trucking companies.

We at Specialty Mobile understand the frustration that this customer had in regards to his vehicle transport. Unfortunately, he was frustrated prior to contacting us. We rely on honesty and integrity, and would rather be brutally honest as opposed to making things sound better than what they truly are. Our customer service is top notch based on the fact that we do care about the service that our customer’s receive; it is unfortunate that this customer felt like Corry was telling him a bunch of “BS” while being polite. We work with an estimated pickup window of 1 – 10 days because that is what it generally takes to have a vehicle picked up (either by one of our drivers or a carrier that is affiliated with us), also considering that we shoot for door to door service versus utilizing terminals. There are times when this process does happen in a much quicker time frame, occasionally takes a bit longer. However, there are several variables to consider. In this particular instance the driver did spend some time in the hospital, which did indeed delay the delivery. It is unfortunate that the outcome of all vehicle moves is not perfect in every way. We work diligently to assure that factors within our control run as efficiently as possible. Every move is unique and poses different challenges. Specialty Mobile is both a broker and a carrier; however, all moves can not be done solely by our trucks. Amy/Specialty Mobile
