Pioneer Auto Express Corp was assigned to transport my car from CA to SC through Specialty Mobile Systems (SMS). I specifically requested for the car to be delivered between 6/13/08 to 6/18/08 (It was also on the agreement with Specialty Mobile Systems). Spoke many times with Natasha, Jack, and Harry about the time the car will be delivered. Confirmed with Harry on 6/4/08 that the car would be delivered on 6/13/08, but got a call from the driver from Pioneer on 6/9/08 saying the car would be delivered on 6/10/08 instead. My boyfriend clearly told him that he would not be at the drop off location on 6/10/08 as we specifically requested a delivery date to be between 6/13/08 to 6/18/08. Kenny, the owner at Pioneer, called my boyfriend late evening on 6/9/08 and told him if the car was not delivered on the 10th, then my boyfriend would have to pick up the car at the terminal which was hours away from where he is and pay for the storage charges.

Because of the delivery time being messed up, my boyfriend missed a business trip that he was supposed to go to. Not only that, because my boyfriend's schedule was messed up from this issue, he had to drive himself to meet his team who is three hours away from drop off location when he could originally ride with his team in the company vehicle. If the car was dropped of on the date we specifically requested, none of this would happen. No explanations, no follow ups, and no apologies from Pioneer or Specialty Mobile Systems until I called again on 6/19/0008 and seriously complained to them about the troubles we had to go through.

The pick up service went ok (I had to call to check where my car was at), but after that no one kept me or my boyfriend updated, and then it went into a disaster. It is obvious that either the broker and carrier don't have good communications or the carrier has a very poor communications internally. Overall I would say this is a horrible horrible experience my boyfriend and I had to go through having to worry about where the car was, having to changing schedules, having to stay up until 2am in the morning and wake up at 6am just to receive phone calls from driver, and to have to stand bad attitudes from the service provider. Personally I don't think this was the kind of service customers expected to get.

After my personal experience with Pioneer and SMS, I went on www.transportreview.com to check on some feedbacks and found that there had been quite a few complains about Pioneer through SMS (should believe what the reviewers said). So if you want to transport your car, but you have a tight schedule, make sure to change the carrier if Pioneer is assigned to you. And also remember that the broker does not deal with you anymore once the car is picked up by the carrier. SMS actually charges higher from most of other brokers. The service could of been better if the car status is monitored from begin to end.
