We are relocating our family from MD to MN. Contacted Shore Auto, LLC, to transport a '71 Cutlass that holds immense sentimental value. Our experience was so unbelievably inept, that I don't know where to start, nor do I even know how to word it...
We paid an early deposit of $150.00, on Sept. 2nd because we needed to change our banking institution with the move. The car was scheduled to be picked up, the 8th or the 9th of Sept. No call and no show. We completely understand there is not a whole lot going on or to, Minnesota. We expressed through voicemails and emails, that we were reasonable people, but that we NEEDED communication from him, that we certainly understood his situation and the need to fill a load before transport. We made 43 calls to Nate, in 1 week, after no one showed. We sent emails, explaining that we were no longer interested in hiring his services. That he was not reliable or trustworthy or deserving. His reply to the email, indicated to me that he must be illiterate, because it was as if he didn't understand, we no longer wanted his services. He responded with another "possible" date of pick-up. He refused to release our deposit, stating that we were in breach of contract, which he breached himself, by not calling and not showing up, as scheduled. We gave him ample opportunity to rectify the situation. In the time we dealt with him, his excuses for not communicating were that he was in the hospital and that their phones and systems were down for 3 days. I don't know if there is any truth in this, but it is not our problem. He was hired to do a job that he could not fulfill, and continually lied and dodged us. This is our life, on a time schedule, in an already stressful time.
We have hired another company, and our vehicle is still sitting in the driveway. Apparently, they work with the same network of drivers, so we are dealing with the similar situation of availability. Nate, from Shore Auto, still has us scheduled on his "board", which is information available to all the transport companies. He refuses to remove us, so that we can conduct business easily with the other company. He refuses to return our deposit, stating it is us, that are in breach. I am not worried about getting our money back, as that will be taken care of by our bank, and certainly the records of the phone calls and emails will work clearly in our favor, but moreover, in addition to firing him, we have asked him to do the right thing - which he knows in his heart, what that is. We all do. He refuses. Payment is earned, for services rendered. There have been, NONE provided. He's really a seedy piece of sh*t, which I was forced to make clear in our last phone conversation. I don't like speaking to people that way, but I had to speak in the language he understands.
He has sucked up our time and energy with all his nonsense, and we are having more time taken as we deal with the bank. We leave for MN on Monday, and due to his inadequacies, we were unable to easily secure another company, in a timely manner to do the job. He is interfering with our personal lives at this point, as he feels righteous in what he is doing. This whole experience has been unbelievable, and he has also changed the price, 3 times. Not a problem, but again, honesty and integrity... It seems he under bids his competition by 100 bucks. That is also a lie. Spend the 100 bucks and avoid this company at all costs.
Unfortunately for him, he crossed the wrong person... I will receive what is rightfully due to me, we are just in a time crunch, and can't deal with it right now. The odd thing is, I still think he thinks he is transporting our vehicle, but we have still not heard from him. It's all very bizarre, and as I said, I can't even word it.
43 calls and about a dozen emails. RUN FROM THIS GUY!!! If anyone is interested, I am happy to forward the email exchange. But please, spare yourself the headache.
