Mediocre Experience

CONS: (1) No true door-to-door service...they contracted with an auto transport carrier who asked my seller to meet them miles away at a Walmart parking lot...and the final delivery ended up 10 miles away from my door; (2) They say they have a list of trusted sellers, but they chose Xpress Auto Carrier, whose reviews on this site freaked me out after reading them- just horrible...seems like they did not do their homework...their founder says they will drop a carrier for being rude, but they chose someone with an average one-star rating; (3) The auto transport carrier they chose subcontracted the final delivery to another regional carrier...so no real control in what happens once the broker contracts with the carrier. : o \ ; (4) Jennifer at Ship A Car Direct (818-824-4920) was impossible to talk to directly...she's very difficult to connect with, despite multiple attempts to reach over multiple days...we just ended up playing phone tag back and forth and corresponded by e-mail.

PROS: (1) Xpress auto carrier and their subcontracted local delivery carrier, LG moving trans, got the car across the country in one piece- they did a good job; (2) This is probably about as good as it gets (?)

Bottom line: WOULD PROBABLY TRY ANOTHER BROKERAGE NEXT TIME.

Thank you for your feedback, Kevin. Sorry to hear the carrier choice freaked you out, we have used that particular carrier over 30 times successfully in the last 10 months. We do use more than customer reviews to vet carriers - we also have industry vetting tools and ratings from other brokers to determine appropriateness, and we also make sure all carriers are licensed and well insured. We do have a limited list of approved haulers, although we are always happy to reassign a new carrier if requested. Apologies that Jennifer was not immediately available when you phoned - she does keep regular business hours and responds quickly to voicemails when they are left (as well as emails, as you noted).
