I think Safe-Direct Car Shipping is a good brokerage company (they talk with the transporters - the transporters are the companies who transport your car. Brokers and Transporters are two different companies - Safe-Direct Car Shipping is the broker). However, during important times I was unable to contact Amanda via phone (right before the transporters came to pick up my car and right near my pick-up day). However, I cannot blame her it was not in business hours. However, I left a voicemail and she never called back. I had to email her/ call her up again to get her on the phone. When I got her on the phone, she was more than happy to work with me and did her best - which I appreciated.

My biggest problem was working with the carrier. When Safe-Direct Car Shipping sets you up with your transporter, make sure it is not CAA Transport. It was difficult to work with them because there was a language barrier. As a result of this language barrier, I had difficulty setting up a drop-off spot. They wanted me to drive 8 miles out of DC into Virginia to pick up my car. Totally unacceptable since I had no one to drop me off. I told Amanda (Safe-Direct Car Shipping) of my situation and she gave me a trucking route for me to figure out other places the driver could drop off the car. Not exactly what I wanted to her, but what else what I suppose to do? I needed my car back.

To top it off - my front license plate is missing and the Transporter is not certain they will be able to reimburse me. (Unfortunately, I did not notice it before I signed off on the Bill of Lading).

Overall, this experience was filled with up's and downs. I would most definitely use a different carrier next time. DO NOT USE CAA TRANSPORTS.

I think I would try to reuse Safe-Direct Car Shipping again. For the next time, however, I would ask them more about their transporters and ensure they have a good record with the company they set me up with. In fact, I believe they should drop CAA transports from their list of transporters as they did such a poor job.

Thanks for your feedback, Garrett. While DC can be a tough area for a direct truck drop-off, we are sorry for your inconveniences. We have made note of your experience and are following up with the carrier.
