Like most everyone, I booked my auto transport through a company (Riteway Auto) on whom I did my due dilegence by searching online reviews and BBB. In placing my order, I communicated the need to receive my car no later than 11/10. Riteway determined the pick up would need to be 10/31. Riteway dispatched my order to Orbit Auto Transport out of La Crescentia, CA. After being told my car would be picked up on 10/31 and that I would be receive a phone call 24 hours in advance, I got no call, and no pick up that day. After placing several calls, I was told it would be picked up at noon 11/1, then again, that it would be later in the day due to the truck having problems. Ultimately it was picked up after 8 pm on 11/1.
Fast forward to 11/10, the expected date of the car's arrival. I have no updated information on its arrival. On Friday 11/11, I telphone Orbit and speak with Vic. He contacted the driver and advised it would be delivered within 3 days, that they had got delayed in Arizona waiting on people's cars. I asked if it would be delivered prior to Monday, 11/14 as I needed it to drive to work on my first day. Vic said he didn't think it would be delivered before Monday, but that they would definitely deliver it Monday and would make themselves available to meet me later in the day, after work. Monday, 11/14, I contact the company and Thomas told me the truck had broken down in Texas and was not going to be here until Thursday or Friday, 11/17 or 11/18. At this point, I've heard three different excuses and its nearing three weeks for delivery that should have easily been completed within the original 10 day estimate. I now had to rent a car for 5 days, but given the past history of them providing an estimate, I was still not sure how long to rent the car for. On Thursday I spoke to Riteway dispatch who said Orbit would be providing me a discount for the delay. I then spoketo Armen, who said I could pay $100 less. Armen said the car was in Virginia but would be delivered Friday or Saturday by noon. I needed the car before noon Saturday and Armen said he'd have the driver, Eddie call me that day. Eddie did not call.
On Saturday morning, after numerous calls to all of Orbits phone numbers, to Riteway, and the communication that I felt the need to file a stolen car report at this point (19 days in), I was given the driver's phone number. At noon with still no car, My husband called the driver, Eddie, who said we would get the car later, if that day at all. Eddie then said he didn't give a damn what we were promised and hung up on my husband. We followed this up by several phone messages to the company. Ultimately Armen called me back and said the driver was stressed and losing money on the deal. We worked with them at this point, just to get my car. I met the driver that night at nearly 10 pm and got my car on the 19th day. Don't use Orbit, unless you have no specific need for your car. Awful, awful, awful experience. I thought I was not going to see my car again.
