Magic Carpet (Kathy Ashlock) - they did their job

My boyfriend had success with Magic Carpet to ship his car a couple weeks before I needed to ship mine, so I contacted Kathy again when it was time to ship my car. Our contact started out with a slightly confusing email exchange, in which she supplied me with a quote several hundred dollars higher than what my boyfriend had paid just weeks before (apparently the Virginia to California route was "backed up" which was causing higher prices), but no order number. I really needed to ship my car ASAP so I figured I'd just have to deal with the price, plus she said she gave me a $50 discount since I was referred by someone. When I called Magic Carpet to give them all of my info and put down the deposit, Kathy wasn't in the office and no one else would help me because Kathy hadn't given me an order number. I called back the next day and finally did speak with Kathy, who was friendly and helpful and took all of my information in a timely manner. My original pickup date was a Sunday, but she suggested trying to rearrange my schedule so that the car could be picked up on a Saturday. When I called back to switch the pickup day to Saturday, she was very easy to reach and made the change quickly, but as far as I know my official order still said Sunday and when my car was assigned to a carrier, I was told it would be picked up on Sunday. The car was actually picked up on Saturday (one day earlier than I was told) but I've heard this happens frequently and may have had nothing to do with Magic Carpet or Kathy. So why the 5-star review?? Kathy got my car assigned to a shipper quickly and it made it to its destination safely and on time. In an industry where many companies are dishonest and unreliable, Magic Carpet seems to stand out as one you can trust.
