J.R. Transport lack of Integrity

Contacted a Broker (TAS) to have vehicle transported from OK to GA. Transaction and set up went smoothly, professionally and fast. Paid $225.00 to the broker for scheduling pick up Transporter assigned was J.R. Transport, L.L.C.

My vehicle was damaged in route to GA by another vehicle on the transport truck. Owner of transport company, Mr. Larry Raber, promised that repairs would be taken care of. Mr, Raber wanted to first get paid by owners of the vehicle who's part came loose and damaged my vehicle. I informed him that this was not an option and that I wanted to get repairs paid by the transport company, not a third party.

Upon arrival in GA the transporter driver, Gary Lamere, was made aware of "all" damages on the vehicle, which included Hood, Dents, Scratches and Scuffs. Driver stated that he had not noticed the dent, scratches and scuffs due to rain upon pick up in OK, however he assured me that the damage would be taken care of by his company. After discussion with Broker and Transporter owners, I was assured that any damage would be paid for. Upon arrival and due to the extent of the damage I refused to pay the transporter driver the balance of $500.00.

After providing an estimate to the transporter (Mr. Raber) from the local Body Shop utilized by the local Jeep Dealership, Mr. Raber refused to pay balance of $870.01. Mr. Raber indicated that this was a Jeep Rubicon and due to the nature of the use of the vehicle it is prone to dents, scratches and scuffs, regardless of what the sellers or I tell him.

End result, Transporter refused to completely pay or hold responsibility for all damages and stated that the Bill of Lading was not properly documented with the damage resulted from the transport. The fact that they I was assured on the phone that all repairs would be covered and the fact that the driver acknowledges our conversation about "all" the damages upon arrival demonstrates a major lack of integrity in the transporter part.

Transporter J.R. Transport L.L.C. has refused to pay for damages described by driver of truck and by customer, me.
