Worst Experience Ever! Driver threatened to hold car ransom & charged extra fees

This company took advantage of us and tried to withhold our vehicle from us. We booked this transport through a broker so it figures we did not know who we were going to get, but we had no idea it would be this horrible! We were told when we booked that we could place items in our trunk and car as long as it did not exceed 100 pounds or cover up any of the windows or views. The driver (Mike) picked up our vehicle and said nothing of any extra fees or cost because there were things in our car. Then, a couple days later he called wanting an extra $100 dollars??? He basically threatened us that if we did not pay him extra that he would keep our vehicle. We told the driver we would gladly pay him extra if he could show us proof that our vehicle caused him any extra fees. He admitted that there were other cars in his transport that had heavy items such as engines, but yet wanted US to pay him extra. If he had a problem with our items he should have made this known before he agreed to transport our vehicle and let us know there would be extra fees. Once the vehicle was in his possession we were helpless. What is to stop him from doing that to other people or asking for even more money. You can't just make up an amount that you want and expect to get it. If he would have just transported our vehicle and arrived like he said we would have probably given him that money as a tip. The car was picked up on Thursday and we were told we could have it by tuesday or wednesday. We did not get it til late Friday night. And at first he tried to say not until monday. This is an unacceptable way of doing business. We felt very helpless in this situation because we could do nothing! The driver is a thug who tried to scam us and threatened to hold our car ransom if he did not get extra money. We will never use this company again and would not even recommend them to our enemies as this was such a horrifying experience. Moving across country is stressful enough and to have to deal with such dishonesty and ugliness is a shame.
