I had to move my car cross country from Jersey City NJ to SFO CA. I received a number of quotes from transporters and brokers across US. Quotes were all over the place ranging from 1000 - 1300. Golden express quote was actually was at the higher end of the spread at about 1260.

I decided to call them as I didn't get good vibe from the other guys I talked with. They all seemed interested in me putting down the deposit before saying anything. I talked with Misty a couple of times on phone before booking and she was very polite, courteous & honest. She offered complete breakup of the quote which included the actual transportation cost + flatbed truck pickup cost + fuel surcharge and answered all my questions. Because of timing issues I offered to drop my car at their storage location for which she gave me discount of 100$.

They were crystal clear about the actual pick-up dates and transport time. They great thing is they give you the drivers name and cell number on booking confirmation so you can just talk with the driver and get actual status of the shipment. The driver (Zoly) was great and was always ready to give updates. He delivered the car in 6 days flat and apart from some dust the car didn't have any damage.

My advice is to make sure that you get your moved by an operator and NOT by a broker. Brokers will offer huge discounts (lowest quote i had was about 970) but the chances of moving the car are slim. Also avoid paying deposits to anyone. I will def use GKE again if I have to move.
