I contracted Global Express Auto on 10/285/10. I needed a late minute carrier becasue the other company I contracted with also had horrible service. I added my car to a friend of mines transport leaving and arriving at the same destinations. Both of us are military (Don't believe this company is military friendly) and only had a small window available before our transfer. We were told by William (sales associate) that they could get a transport bo later than that Saturday (10/30). We contracted for $825.00, $125.00 of which I paid upfront over the phone (Bad idea).
Saturday of course comes and goes by with no word from the company. We call that afternoon and were told a driver was not available until Monday at the earliest. Now Monday comes and that morning we talked to dispatch and she told us that she would call back with the drivers information that afternoon. 2:30pm comes and no word. We called and were told again that there was no driver available and one could not be guarenteed the nex day unless we paid and EXTRA $275.00 a car. We had no choice because, again, we were being transferred within a day.
I received a call on Tuesday morning that the driver would pick up between 9-10am. At 9:30am, the drivers assistant called (the driver is Russian and doesn't speak English) and said they would be there at 1100 because they forgot about the time change. Yet, when I asked where they were driving from wehn they arrived, they said they had come from Miami. It's interesting that they came from the same city as where the company is based and yet they were not able to make it to Jacksonville a day later for the original contracted price.
The delivery was o.k., but a few days late (truck evidently broke down) and not a scheduled time of delivery. We ended up waiting ALL day for "Peggy" to arrive.
Again, bottom line is that this company has totally unethical business practices, is NOT military friendly as they claim, and will definately bait you with one contract price and overcharge you to ship at the last minute. I filed a complaint with the BBB in my disappointment and frustration. I also e-mailed a complaint to John Rogers (John.globalexpress@gmail.com) their head salesman with no reponse from him.
