We entered into a contract with Global on 6/29/11. They pretended to be a shipping company (instead of a broker) - that was the first lie. They said our car would be delivered to CT by 7/11/11 (delayed because of holiday). I started calling them on 7/7/11 to find out what time the car would be arriving, so that we were sure to be here. That was the first of approximately 70 phone calls - not one of which has ever been returned. Needless to say, the car did not arrive on the 11th. Nor did it arrive on the 13th, 15th or 16th (all dates that we were promised it would be arriving. We finally got a call (not from Global, they NEVER call, but from "Ed" the owner of Quality, who had also never returned one of my calls) last night (the 19th) saying that the car was nearby, but that they wouldn't deliver it (in violation of the contract). The shipping company, Quality Transport, about whom we knew nothing until last night, demanded payment in cash before they would release the car. Because it was 7pm and we are in a very rural area, and we had no idea that the car would be arriving (in spite of repeated promises that we would receive a phone call 24 hours before its arrival, which, of course, never happened....) we did not have $850 in cash. The owner of Quality, a man named Ed Pour, suggested we use Western Union (which would cost us more money) or pay a fine of $150 to have the trucker spend the night so we could get cash in the am. Obviously we refused to do the latter as it was certainly not our fault that the car showed up with no warning. We said we would pay through Western Union, once my husband had a chance to inspect the car. He had to drive to a dark parking lot (it was now 9pm - more than an hour after we had been told to meet the driver), where the driver refused to let him inspect the car (AGAIN in violation of the contract which states that we, the owners of the car MUST inspect the car). He then took off with our car. They have now stolen our car.
