Never assigned a carrier, refunded money after Amex dispute filed.

Had my motorcycle with EAT, paid them in full on 4/16/08 to find a carrier for me. After 17 days, they never assigned a carrier, even though they "bumped up the amount they would pay the carrier," I was told, to the "maximum amount." They said they could not guarantee an assignment date. I cancelled the contract and per my contract, was entitled to a full refund since they could not assign a carrier within 15 days. My representative Maria K., was in my opinion, one of the worst "customer service" reps I have ever dealt with. I felt like I was being taken advantage of and I wasn't sure what to do, so I cancelled my order. I waited and waited for a refund. After a month and after I filed a charge dispute with American Express, EAT refunded my money. By the way, I got another carrier (Harley Transport) to pick up my bike within a week of cancelling EAT's contract. My bike was shipped from Virginia to Utah within another seven days! It was so easy! Mary Lou was professional, returned my calls, and kept me appraised of all
the transportation details.

Dr. Carter, we sincerely apologize to you for the difficulties you experienced in scheduling your motorcycle transport. Express Auto Transport works diligently for our customers to ensure timely scheduling at the best possible price for every carrier assignment. Cost, transport time, and service are thoroughly evaluated for each transport. In this case, despite our efforts, we were unable to guarantee carrier assignment without exceeding the maximum amount paid. Throughout the process, contrary to the complaint, you did speak with customer service on numerous occasions. It is disappointing that your dissatisfaction with Maria is directed with personal insults rather than identifying concerns that we can specifically address relevant to the overall customer service experience. However, to your credit, you were proactive in the process and initiated most calls and conversations. Although the refund could have been processed more quickly, please note that you were credited the full amount on May 22, five days prior to posting of this review.
