I will start by saying that I did not do my due diligence researching this company BEFORE hand, and only found this site AFTER wards. To say the least, my stomach was turning after reading some of the bad reviews. My experience however was overwhelmingly good, and noted to myself that I'd make a post on here (good, bad, or ugly) after I recieved my vehicle.
Quick summary of my situation- I have a project vehicle (86' Thunderbird), that is exceptionally clean, and also happens to have 25k or so worth of modifications invested in it. The vehicle was being stored at my folks house in the Chicagoland area, but I've since moved out to Colorado. The vehicle has some significant quirks related to its modifications, that other shippers in the past would not touch- extremely low ground clearance, non-functioning parking brake, non-stock shifter, and push button starter to name a few.
I called and spoke to Adam Weatherread at DAS. He was extremely polite and helpful over the phone, he showed some interest in my vehicle and made the conversation pleasant. I explained my vehicles host of nuiances, to which he explained that they contract with specialty shippers that know their way around modified vehicles. He promised the vehicle would be taken care of, and I specifically asked about the enclosed transport door to door shipping, which I required. I almost coud not believe the quote he gave me, $1064 shipped door to door (on what turned out to be overnight service!) This was almost $200 cheaper than my next best quote I received on USHIP.com so scepticism set in. My heart sank when I logged into my bank account minutes after the call to see that $1064 had already been taken from my account. At this point I was expecting the worst from the rest of the experience... quite the contrary.
The next day I received a call from Jacob, from Wright/Right Way Trucking, as he was in the Chicagoland area and was ready to pickup my vehicle. I missed the initial call from him however he ws able to make contact with my folks on the origin end. My folks requested that he provide CDL/vehicle tag numbers, proof of insurance ect. He had this information faxed over to my folks in a matter of minutes, along with a call from DAS noting that the contractor was indeed sent by DAS. By the time I made contact with Jacob, everything was setup for the pickup. Jacob was extermely pleasant and responsive. He was able to put my folks at ease which says alot! Jacob called my cell phone for instructions on how to start th car, and waited on the phone with me while the vehicle warmed up. He also called back a second time asking how to get the vehicle into gear- I really appriciated this as he took the extra time to call me rather than just "mess around" or force something without knowing. The car was successfully picked up and on its way all less than 24 hours from my initial call to DAS. Jacob was extermemly responsive updating me on their drive progress, and returning calls promptly. They pulled in to my street about 8pm the following day, 48 hours from my initial call to DAS. Jacob's truck and trailer are new equipment in excellent shape. I learned that my vehicle was being kept company by a 380k Lamborghini they had just picked up at the freight terminal at O'hare airport, so my fears began to subside. Jacob and his partner were extremely polite and professional the entire time. Upon unloading my vehicle, we discovered the exhaust was too low and was going to be damaged if we were to proceed. Jacob aand his partner took the extra time to jack up their trailer/truck (it took 3 attempts/almost an hour) before we got the angle right and the car would back off the trailer without making contact. Never once were they hasty, upset, in a rush, ect. I have nothing but the highest regards for Wright/Right Way Trucking, Jacob, his partner, and their buisness. I will even thank DAS/Adam as my experience with them was pleasant. I know I'm one of the lucky ones and still can't get over the speed, care, and overall pleasant experience shipping my vehicle was.
