1/7/08 scheduled pickup for1/18/08 transit California to Massachusetts. Car picked up 2/1/08 and delivered 2/15/08. When I called about original delay, Countrywide informed me the "the truck was in the area" then "the trucks have to come back from San Diego" then "we are dealing with weather delays of 2-3 days" then "it should have been picked up on January 18th."
I was told to contact Countrywide Customer Service, Al, once the car was delivered to complain about delays. The Customer Service Department e-mailed me that the issue was being handled by the "Claims Department" then the issue was being brought up with the "Board of Directors." After many calls, I never received a return phone call from Al.
My feeling is that if a company claims that a car will be picked up within 2-3 days of scheduled date and then transported within 8-12 days and that does not happen, then there should be compensation. The only answer I received was that Countrywide does not make enough money on each car delivered. However, I can't tell them how to operate their business only that I expect honesty in business dealings.
I used Countrywide for car transport in September, 2006 and May, 2007 that was satisfactory. However, this time Countrywide could not do their job of finding a company to transport the vehicle in a timely fashion. Why else would I hire them?
