After 3 weeks of on and off research, to find a carrier to transport a sight-unseen car from NJ to MA, I was about to give up and fly down to get the car myself. Between claims of being rated by the BBB, the constant calls and texts from carriers as soon as an inquiry is made and the nonsense of quotes starting at $250 and going up to $650, I had zero confidence in the people that were soliciting me. I also looked at some contract language and basically, they can quote a rate and then change it at any point, right up until the actual delivery of the vehicle, claiming the driver charged more, so they had to charge more. They can also deliver the car whenever they want without any sort of penalty for late delivery. The whole experience was seedy. Just before i was going to fly down and Uber to the dealership from the airport, a trusted friend living in AZ recommended Chips. I called, got straight answers and a reasonable quote. Given the recommendation, I hired them and they promised to pick up the car in NJ within a couple of days and deliver in about 8 days. Two days later, I got a call asking of the next day would be OK. When I asked why it was so early, the response was the desire to not over-promise. The car showed up with a professional and courteous driver that took time to ensure I was satisfied with the vehicle. After an inspection, I signed the paperwork and he was off to his next delivery. If you want to save a lot of headaches and annoyances, give these folks a call. These are professionals in an otherwise transient industry.
