One thing to remember for an inexperienced user with any business transaction is that the median among the quotes will most likely be the most decent service you can get at a fair-to-good price. At least that's what I was able to prove with Bears Transport.

I had a deal with another company who was my lowest bidder (Stateway Auto Transport), and I should have just stayed with my gut instinct of picking the broker who was just right in the middle in pricing. I've set a deal with this other company also for almost a whole month before my requested pick-up date, and they kept assuring me, until three days after my supposed pick-up date, that they were coming to get my car. Well up to just 15 hours before my flight from Boston to San Francisco, they kept giving me inaccurate information about the truck's ETA, telling me it was arriving that night. I very well emphasized on the day I made my reservation with them (again, this was almost a whole month prior) that I had a flight to catch so my car couldn't get picked up later than that. But, I guess you get the service that you pay for (they quoted $795).

Fortunately, I made a phone call to the right company at 9pm Wednesday night (I had to leave for the airport at 6:30am the following morning). It was Bears Transport. Initially they said they could not pick up my car within the time frame I asked for. But then I got another phone call from them with a lady who was just trying to help. She advised me to leave my car with a tow yard, and even looked up a reputable one for me. Eventually I ended up doing business with them instead, and cancelled with Stateway Auto.

Bears Transport folks are definitely easier to work with, easy to get a hold of, and are honest up-front. Plus, they follow up with you to let you know when the pick-up happens, and give an ETA for your vehicle that is not exaggerated. I had a GREAT experience with them, and I'm glad they handled my car. The broker they used, PG Daniel was also an excellent trucker!
