Did I have to worry?

To start off, Bears Transport do try their best to fulfill your needs. And they ensure that you understand that in this business, accuracy (price/transport time) is never 100%. Now, I've read reviews over reviews in this website for about 8 hours. Even then, I always worry how trustworthy these transport agents/brokers are.

To conclude, rather than worrying next time, I'd just use Bears Transport and recommend it to my friends for future needs. It's a tough, scary, and unreliable business, but Bears Transport lives up to their reputation. I hope that they will keep it up, especially in these times, where relocations for employment becomes more frequent.

Quote started off at $750, but don't get me wrong. It's $900 because of several little things that added up, and I consider it fair. When I did the online quote, Bears Transport called (note: not e-mail! While I'm more comfortable with e-mail, but in this business? Hmm. Makes you think twice.) me and confirmed my quote. In the meantime, I also stressed that my vehicle is larger than it seems (Crosstour/ZDX/X6 style), so they revised it to $800.

Unfortunately, it's the time for 'snowbirds', so Bears had a difficulty finding a transporter, nevertheless they still did. They called me less than a week before the transport time (I was worrying so I e-mailed them - and of course they replied promptly - that they search about 1.5 weeks before the transport date) and notified me that they located a driver, but due to the season, the driver wanted $100 more. Bears ate the $50 and revised the price to $850.

Now, there's a small discrepancy on Bears saying you can put some items in the vehicle. On pickup, the driver mentioned that you cannot put any items in the vehicle due to regulations. So this is where it's a bit of an issue. I don't think you are supposed to put anything, and some, but not all, drivers allow you put to stuff in. However, I did go overboard with putting a bit more items in the vehicle - light, but quite a few (empty boxes for containers). The driver asked for $50 more. This was personal between me and the driver, nothing to do with Bears, but hey, for $50 with the amount of stuff I wanted to put in, it's a deal.

Delivery itself was quite interesting. Vehicle picked up @ 26th 12pm (I was told it may be as late as 1pm, and my flight was at 6pm so I did worry, but after that, all done). He told that it may arrive as early as 27th evening or 28th morning. The promised date range was 28-29 so I was like 'huh? seriously?' Well the vehicle did not arrive @ 27th of course, but it was because of the weather. It'd be crazy if it did come in less than 2 days though.

I requested if I could pick up the vehicle @ 5pm. Now, transporters don't usually agree to this because they have to maximize their time. However, my transporter happens to live 40 minutes away from me. So when he called me for 11am pickup @ 28th, he said I could pick it up at his place. At the time, I was at a new job and am using a rental car. So it's helpful that I could pick it up later. Not having any friends to help me drive two cars, I mentioned that to the transporter as I was heading from my office and he said 'Well, why didn't you say so?'. He offered to drive the vehicle to my place, and of course I had no problem with it, seeing that he transported the vehicle over miles.. He did ask me if I could drive him back, which didn't happen, because his friend followed him. And yeah, the vehicle is dirtier, but the driver cleaned it because it was at his home. So I did receive some extra service..

And now, as you may have realized from my review, I'm at peace with my vehicle. So if you need a vehicle transporter, stop reading this review and call Bears up.
