As I was reading about car transport it became clear that it's a bit of a shady enterprise. A lot of uncertainty on every level. I had many companies contact me several times by phone and email, being very pushy. I had one company so incompetent that they sent me an email quoting me... $9. I didn't try to hold them to that price.

I actually ended up choosing Bears because of the tone they used in responding to (few) negative comments on this board. They came across as professional and reasonable, which was a contrast to some of the other companies I looked at.

It ended up going far better than I hoped, even. I was told it might be a week or two before they could find a truck and they ended up finding one on the first day. It was picked up on a Wednesday in Pittsburgh and the driver said he'd be in Georgia on Friday. Bears told me to be prepared for it to be Saturday. The driver ended up getting me the car on Thursday.

My contacts with Bears were all positive. They were friendly and professional. The truck driver was very nice and the car got here with no obvious damage of any kind.
