Called a reputable company to transport a 530i from Philadelphia to around Orlando. They gave me the name of the driver - when I contacted him, he offered to do it "off the record" to save me money. How could I go wrong? 1st mistake. Then, his paperwork looked like it had been photocopied hundreds of times and was barely legible. 2nd mistake. Then, I asked to see his identification as he was wearing street clothes XXXhe told me, "I'm insulted". 3rd mistake. The car left my area hours after promised late Monday night and was supposed to get to FL by end of business Wednesday. Thursday night came and he called the drop-off contact and said he had taken my car off the truck and had lost the key. He had to drive down to get a copy of the key I had FedEx'd earlier in the week XXXthe car finally showed up Friday morning missing the front-end tow cap, the original key I had given to him, and with diesel fuel all over. By the way, once he had my money (he wanted cash upfront), he didn't want to hear from me again. He couldn't be bothered with making one single daily call for an update. I can't see his staying in business much longer. This scenario can be verified by All Pro BMW in Ocala, FL. He is a total jerk.
