ATTENTION ALL TRANSPORTERS-DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ACERTUS/METROGISTICS! My company transported for them consistently for about 3 years. They are a very dirty, dishonest, cheapskate company. They love to find pleasure in framing drivers/companies with damages that did not occur in our possession.
A few instances include-a new Ford Transit that my driver immediately noted major damages on in the railyard. He spoke with the necessary person on site about the damages, they informed him to just note it on the BOL and still deliver it. He also called Acertus's main line and informed them about it. About a week later we receive a damage claim of $2500 for this vehicle. Their excuse was that the damages were over a couple inches in size so we are responsible for the cost to fix it because "it had to have happened in our possession." The photos my driver took prior to loading it, you can even see the train car in the background on their property.
Another instance-3 months after delivering a new Ford Explorer, they claimed $4500 in major damages against us. My driver notated 3 very minor knicks in the rear bumper, but somehow 3 months AFTER delivery, Acertus comes back stating the front end was smashed in. Their reasoning for pinning it on us was-"the dealership changed ownership and lost any evidence of photos/video of the car on their property so that leaves the transporter on the hook."
THIS COMPANY IS DIRTY. They pay pennies, about impossible to get ahold of in any matter if there is an issue, and bottom line they will absolutely frame your company for anything they feel they can get away with.
If you are a new transporter getting started, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES HAUL FOR ACERTUS. I will forever regret doing business with them. Stay away from them, because eventually you WILL regret it. This is your warning.
