I was impressed by the final act of Brian, representing A@J haulers, when my car was delivered to my home on Friday, March 29th,2013. He personally delivered and unloaded it in my driveway, notifying me 1 hour prior to delivery, then calling again about 15 minutes before arrival, - so I didn't lose any time waiting. But most of all, - he apologized for the delay and missed communication. Not to mention,- to compensate for it he offered a discount, which I gratefully accepted. My car was NOT damaged by shippers, and nothing was missing from it. I'm happy and thankful, but I wasn't just a few days ago...
To show the whole picture, I will try to write about what happen.
I bought a car (it was2008 Civic) in Elgin, IL on Thursday, March 21st, and I needed it to be delivered to Minnesota, where we live. My broker helped me to find a company, who can do it with a reasonable price, - it happen to be A@J Haulers LLC. I contacted them (Monday, March 25th), gave them all information about car, addresses etc.. I mentioned, that car must be picked up not later, than on Tuesday, March 26th and was expecting it to be delivered the same day, or at least next day (Wednesday, March 27th). Brian told me, that it very possible (without promising a lot), - so my expectation was: to have it home by Wednesday. It didn't happen the way I was expecting..., which made me upset (to say it in a nice language). Worst of all, -nobody called to tell me why the car isn't here yet, and I couldn't get through to talk on the phone with Brian in a split second, as I wanted, when I wanted. So, I guessed: I'm not the #1 to be served, as I'm supposed to be. In my own thoughts I was right, and they (A@J Haulers) were wrong. Only later I've learned, that one of the A@J Haulers drivers (the one who had to haul my car with others) had family emergency and had to take off right in the middle of the trip (haul). It was redirected and taken care off, but I knew nothing about it. So, the problem wasn't transportation, or weather - it was communication. (To give more slack to people in different areas of business- I will say, that none of us is 100% responsive and communicative with our customers, bosses, children and spouses. So, let's not always demand it of others,- give them a brake). Anyways, my right are my priorities, right? Wrong! But I acted, as if it was right. I called and sent messages to Brian, pushing on his conscience, trying to get an answer: where my car is (global priority), and why he wasn't taking care of it, and so on...
Thursday, March 28th, passed... Car was still somewhere, but not at my driveway, and I was so impatient to see it (I paid for it, - where is it?). Friday morning came, last day before weekend, I thought...Now, I might not see it until Monday, or worse-never... My pour baby, my nice black coupe, my hope and dream...(sorry, little too much drama - I'm not that materialistic, just a little, just like you; or most of you). What would you do, if you were in my shoes? What would you think?
Should I call the Police? No, that is the case for FBI. No, what if it is already being shipped overseas? Let's do Interpol...
So, I called...Brian at about 9:00 on Friday morning, ready to give him my last warnings and threats... Before I started, he told me what was going on, not trying to shift the blame on someone for what was happening, which (the explanation) was like a pain relief for my soul. Then he said, that the car should be delivered at around 11:00 - noon, and I will be given a notice in advance, and that exactly what he did.
Was it worth it?
Did I need to go through so much pain and suffering?
My answer is: Yes.
With all of that I got to meet someone, who has guts to admit his mistake and apologize (not like so called "real men" do: they rationalize everything or blame others for their own mistakes).
At the same time I had a chance to look at myself from the right angle to see - who I really am.
No, you are not at the psychology class, nor I'm giving you a religious lecture, but here is my own opinion: everybody needs a second chance. God gave it to us, as you, probably, know. We were created good, pure and clean; then we messed up (sinned), and we can't fix it. Not by trying to find someone dirtier ourselves, nor by blame game. Then God stepped in and sacrificed His own son Jesus Christ. In such act He gave us a chance to accept His love and forgiveness and become new again, like we've never sinned...( For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; Romans 3:22-24 / THE BIBLE).
Finally, I'm glad for everything that happen, even thought, i wouldn't want it to go the same way again.
Am I satisfied with the service, provided by A@J Haulers?
Yes.
Would I recommend A@J Haulers to my friends?
Yes.
Any suggestions, to make A@J Haulers' services better?
Maintain good (fast and honest) communication between dispatch, driver and customer. Train all employees to be responsible, accountable, honest and reliable. (If not willing to cooperate, - replace; get the right people, to do the job right).
Thank you, again, Brian, for providing good service for very reasonable price. Thank you for a discount, too. My apologies to you for being such a ...not good...
And may God bless you and make your business more prosperous, so you can serve more people, and keep honesty and communications at the top.
