This was my first time to ship cars, and I looked online for hours to determine the best company. I used Cobalt to ship two cars. Joseph, the broker, was wonderful to work with. I changed my expected dates of pick-up on several occasions, and he continued to provide excellent customer service and get a carrier scheduled on the days that I needed. Now, once that part is over, the customer and the carrier are the ones mainly dealing with each other. Joseph follows up to make sure things went smoothly. The first car was picked up and delivered exactly as the carrier stated. He communicated well, was friendly, and delivered the car in perfect condition. However, the second carrier was not so great. He arrived to pick up the car about 5 hours earlier than he had originally told me. Naturally, nobody was home. He wasn't happy (as though it was our fault), and my husband had to drive the car to the carrier's warehouse the next day in order to get it loaded on the transport. Thankfully, that was only a 10 minute drive, so no big deal. However, the carrier then delivered the car late (though I believe it was weather-related) and asked for $50 more than the contracted price. I still had the invoice and refused to pay the extra money. He was rude and unfriendly the whole time. Finally, he left, and I had my car. So, all's well that ended well. I emailed Joseph to let him know what happened, and the confirmed that I had done the right thing. He was going to contact the carrier. In summary, Joseph is great. Cobalt Logistics is a great broker. The carriers may not be as dependable, but stick to the contract price and it should all end up fine. I probably just got a bad egg on that second carrier.
