This was my first time shipping a car. I did my research. Wow, what a learning curve for the average Joe. This industry is pretty tricky. So, I decided to go with a broker since I wanted someone to navigate the maze for me instead of take my chances. I also felt likely to get a better deal both cost-wise and customer service-wise. Luckily, I found Ashley at Auto Carrier Group and my plan worked out beautifully. She quoted me a price that was $500 cheaper (for my 2 cars) than going direct to the carriers, and $150 cheaper than other brokers. This includes her service fee. More importantly, she was accessible and proactive with her communication. This was the big value-add for me. Rarely a day went by without a quick call or email from Ashley... this is what I wanted... to know that my case was top of mind for her. Ashley runs a small shop and she seems to take pride in handling each customer's case with a white-glove approach. By contrast, I had started working with a different (large, established) broker who didn't return my calls for 3 days and then gave me a guilt trip for being displeased with his service. Ashley was also extremely transparent about her process, and what she can/can't guarantee. Unlike other brokers, she laid out the process for me and explained how things would play out, including pickup timeframes, potential for carriers to negotiate for a bit more money, etc. Everything happened exactly as she said it would. The first carrier that she had lined up didn't check out insurance-wise.. so she let them go. The second carrier checked out fine, called me exactly when she said he would, showed up on exactly the day I had requested, was extremely polite and clear, and dropped off my cars in Colorado safe and sound exactly when he said he would. All in all a great experience that I credit primarily to Ashley and Auto Carrier Group.
