| poor communication |
though Red Carpet's response has been fast in securing independent transport co. ( second time used,) I was extremely disappointed with Hatch Transportation's service and communication.
I had RC and Hatch to move my car to Rhode Island from AZ in late May and all went very well. At summer's end, I used the same outfit with horrific result. After a verbal guess by driver of 7-9 days for return, I began calling driver after 10 days. I finally rec'd a call back, after several tries, where driver stated there was truck trouble/breakdown in New Mexico ( on/about the 10th day) .
I guess that Hatch arranged for a different truck to get my car from New Mexico to a drop off lot in AZ. After speaking with Hatch, I arranged to go to lot, about 40 miles away, to get my vehicle rather than wait for a "couldn't be determined' number of days longer to take delivery at my home.
When I queried as to a reasonable rate adjustment to recognize lack of status calls, uncommunicated delay, my own effort and time to arrange ride to pick up car, eliminating need to final deliver, etc. I was reminded by Dale Hatch that there are no guarantees on delivery. I accepted a token $40 adjust and quickly ended this horrible experience.
Yes, equipment breaks down; customer service should not.
In future, Red Carpet; sure; Hatch, no way.
