Having read so many horror stories about people's experiences with various companies, I was very concerned and anxious about transporting my vehicle. I chose 1st Call U Haul after reading reviews on this site, cross checking with the Better Business Bureau and after doing a comparison against other companies in my tri-state area.
1st Call gave me an initial estimate that was about $100-200 higher than others I had received from other companies, but I think it was money well spent. The volume of the company's business far exceeded other transport companies in my area. I did read several poor reviews on this site, but considering the volume of business, it appears the percentage of unsatisfied customers is relatively low.
I read that some have had difficulty reaching Eric, but that was not my experience at all. I found him to be very nice, patient with me and my concerns, available, and quick to return phone calls if I did have to leave him a message.
My car was actually picked up by Arizona Transport. I appreciated that the driver was willing to give me his cell phone number, in addition to the dispach number, and that the driver who picked up my car was the same one who dropped it off. Being realistic about the situation, I knew that I needed to have some flexibiilty and was not off-put by being given a two day window of when my car would be dropped off instead of an exact time. The driver communicated with me and I did not have a problem that he brought my car in the morning rather than the night before as was initially expected.
My car arrived just fine. Things went smoothly and I had no problems. I think I will always be nervous entrusting property to someone else, but if I had to do it again, I wouldn't hesistate to use 1st Call Auto Haul.
