Lack of communication

I had contacted Webster Services because we had gotten a recommendation from a friend of my daughter's. This friend had used them to transport a car from California to Florida last year. I didn't do any other research, which I now see I should have done.

Prior to placing my order I had several questions. I send emails with my questions, which were all answered promptly. So, I place the order approximately one month prior to the car being available for pickup. After the order was placed and the deposit paid, there was no further contact. I sent several emails asking for status, none were acknowledged. I called twice, calls were answered. I had been under the impression that the car would be picked up one to 10 days after the date it was available. I didn't find out until later that Webster didn't even expect to get bids for the job until after the car was available. Three days after the date we had given, I still hadn't heard anything, and I cancelled the order. I sent an email, and I faxed a letter asking for a refund of my deposit. I received a phone call within minutes (amazing since all of my former emails had been ignored) and was told I would only receive 1/2 of the deposit. At this point, I didn't even care, I just wanted out so I could place an order with someone else.

The ending of this story is, I placed an order with another company and the car was picked up the next day. What I was told was that Webster's bid was probably so low they couldn't find a carrier to bid on it.

Next time I need to do business in an area I'm not familiar with I will do more research.

We standard shipping within 1-10 business days from the date the vehicle is available. We did quote this and inform them of this prior to placing the order. They canceled after the vehicle was available for only 3 days. And still was not near the date that we were told that it could even be delivered. WE strive to take care of our customers, very hard. However there are some that will not be satisfied no matter what we do. As far as the price being right, we moved another car from the same area two days later at the same price. The price is proportionate to how long it takes to move you vehicle. If you want it moved faster pay more, slower pay less. Thank you and God Bless.
