Damage to the roof

I purchased a rare, old and expensive Volkswagen in Canada. I hired Turbo Auto Transport to pick up and deliver the car to me in Pennsylvania, about 500 miles. They had Livingston International pick it up in Montreal. The seller sent me photos from all angles of it prior to loading, loading and on the one-car trailer. And they completed a bill of lading noting the condition. It went to Toronto, then crossed the border into Michigan. It sat at the Michigan terminal for two weeks. Then it was delivered in Pennsylvania on a Saturday (yesterday). The car has a bad roof dent right above the windshield and centered, buckling the roof behind it like it was driven into something high. The damage is clearly not there in the photos of the car being loaded. The delivery guy had no paperwork whatsoever, he had no bill of lading and said the roof dent was pre-existing. He said he forgot the paperwork on Eric's desk. So the best I could do was take photos. I've emailed and called the company and nobody is available because it's the weekend. I was in constant contact with Eric Gentry during the transport and he never mentioned the damage. I'm so disappointed. It's been a 2 month process to purchase and ship this car. It will be very difficult and expensive to fix and the car will never again be original, no matter the outcome of the claim. But I'm thankful that the seller took photos of the entire process of picking the car up, even getting the Livingston truck in the photos. My husband also took a video of the delivery person saying that the dent was pre-existing, just in case they try to claim it happened after delivery. In short, if you worry about the condition your car arrives in, I would not suggest using either of these companies. I understand accidents happen but nobody was honest with me and told me about it and the bill of lading was conveniently nowhere to be seen. I believe it sitting in Michigan for 14 days was a stall tactic due to the damage. I will say that they were kind to deal with during transport and responded to my emails in a timely manner and they accommodated the seller's hectic schedule to pick up the car.

Update a month later: they denied my claim stating that since the car is over 15 years old, I was required to have my own insurance. I did have my own insurance but it's their negligence that caused it, no matter the age. Also, I have yet to receive the delivery bill of lading or any customs paperwork so I can't register and title the vehicle.
