I had to ship my late model Mercedes Benz cabriolet from Texas to Florida in conjunction with a relocation. I'd never shipped a car before, and was concerned about things I'd read about the industry. I submitted an online quote request through a web site consolidating firms and was immediately barraged with phone calls and emails offering quotes. It was overwhelming and only added to my concern about how to select a reputable operator at a fair price. I spoke with many companies, and then had the good fortune of finding Bill Avrich, President of Transport Connection. Bill took the time to explain the entire process to me, the role of brokers vs. the transport companies, and how he would handle my request to be sure I got the service I needed for my high value car at a competitive price. I've read reviews suggesting Bill's communication style put some customers off. It's true, Bill can be very direct and he doesn't mince his words. To some, he may appear to be aggressive, but in negotiating with shippers on your behalf, that's what you want. In just a few days, Bill secured a very competitive deal meeting the schedule I needed with other special conditions I required. He made sure my car was placed on the top of the carrier to protect the convertible top from any fluid leakage from other vehicles, and that soft straps were used to secure the car to avoid scratching the wheels and breaks. None of the other companies I spoke with mentioned this. Bill's a "car guy" and he he knows what to ask for to be sure your car is well protected. My car was picked up on the date requested and was delivered in perfect condition 2 days later at my desired location at the time requested. Bill checked in with my numerous times to be sure everything was going as I expected and to my satisfaction. I am very happy with the results and highly recommend Bill and Transport Connection.
