After researching various transporters based on this website, I’ve decided to use SMS to transport my BMW from Staten Island, NY to Los Angeles, CA. My research included checking with the BBB, the domain name registration of their website and the telephone company to see if the phone number correspondent with an address. I received a quote of $1295 ($195 deposit and $1100 certified check when the car arrives) from Jason for door to door, open carrier transport, full insurance and NO fuel surcharge. Some transporters returned a lower quote however they don’t mentioned anything about a fuel surcharge so be careful. After charging my deposit, Dee informed me AUTOLOG will be transporting my BMW by enclosed rail. They pick up my car as scheduled (10/12/05) and it arrived at the destination on 11/7/05. Yes; it took 27 days to go from coast to coast which made me nervous however I was provided with updates from Corry. I’m happy to report my BMW arrived dirty but without any damages which I was most concerned about. If you’re looking for a friendly and honest auto transporter, give Specialty Mobile Systems a call.
