I was initially attracted to Sonic Auto due to their reasonable quote and highly accessible staff. They told me over the phone that pickup in City A would occur on January 1, and delivery in City B would take roughly 3 days. January 1 rolls around with no news. I repeatedly call them to ask for an estimated pickup date; they then tell me pickup will occur January 4, and increase the quote by $60, citing that the driver is taking on a less than half-full load of vehicles. Sonic sends me documentation that the estimated delivery date is Jan 7, so I book a rental car in City B to get by for a few days. I make arrangements for Jan 7, staying home from work and moving appointments around. No response once again. I call Sonic to get more details, and they give me a rough timeline of delivery on Jan 8 or 9 with no commitment. I now need to extend my rental car and move interviews once more. To say I'm frustrated is an understatement. Increasing the price while delaying my vehicle pickup & delivery is not fair to the customer. It's better to pay 2X the price and go for a service that will provide you guaranteed GPS tracking so that there are no surprises.
