I shipped my older Honda CRV from California to Vermont, and it went fairly smoothly. The videos on the website answered most of my questions and helped me prepare my car, and Ship A Car Direct customer service reps kept in touch with me via e-mail and I was able to call and get other questions answered and get assistance contacting the carrier and driver. Shipping a car that far does require some flexibility, I think it’s helpful to know that ahead of time. So the pick up was later than originally expected by a couple of days, which actually was better for me, and delivery was earlier by 2 days. Pick up & delivery times wound up being several hours different than estimates, i.e. on pick up it wound up being very late at night, but driver contacted me to ask if that was okay. For delivery the carrier company contacted me the day before and said between 8am & 12pm, but it wound up being later in the day, like 5pm. No big deal for me, but just helpful to know for folks who haven’t shipped a car before. Tip: run out your warm weather windshield washer fluid before shipping to the northeast in winter. I was lucky it didn’t crack anything when it froze! My car arrived in good condition, definitely needed a wash after a cross country open air transport, but no damage, and no issues.
