Overall, felt that Ship a Car Direct offered one of the most responsive car transport services out there. That said, there were multiple aspects that would've improved the experience. Mike was very knowledgeable and quite prompt in responding to questions left via email or phone. However, a friend shipped my car out on my behalf since I was going to be out of the country. Despite hoping to receive advance notice of when the car could be picked up, he found out just a few hours before pickup when they called him. I received notification from ship a car direct after my friend had heard about pickup, which is not anywhere near the approx 24 hr notice for pickup that had been described. Also, whenever trying to call and talk to a person, I could only get voicemail, which is not helpful calling internationally. My car arrived quite dirty (covered in a layer of dirt), but undamaged, with poor and inconsistent communication by the carrier for when dropoff would be. Calls to the carrier went directly to voicemail most of the time (and went unanswered) and then, the mailbox filled for days so no messages could even be left. I still think Mike did a good job of coordinating overall, but this was not a pleasant shipping experience.

Thank you for the overall positive feedback, Crystal! You bring up a really important point that is useful for future shippers to know: there isn't a lot of advance notice for scheduling, and timing is not exact. Carriers provide estimates only because each route is unique and drive times can vary. We know that is tough for customers to plan around, but it is the reality of this particular service. There isn't a way to micro-manage drive times. And cars do arrive pretty dusty after being transported for thousands of miles by open carrier.
