We were planning to drive our 64 Chrysler 300 convertible back from Phoenix to Hershey, Pennsylvania, but decided to ship it rather than have to contend with all the sloppy weather we were having out east this Winter. We selected Ship a Car Direct due to service history and price and were happy with both. Our service coordinator, Matt, was especially helpful leading us through this process as it had been over 20 years since we had a car shipped cross country. I was a little unsettled with the broker concept, but the team that picked up our job was top rate. We had to leave Arizona before the pick up date, but they communicated and coordinated with our friends on scheduling the exact time and place for loading "Lilly". She had a lot of REAL expensive company in that enclosed trailer according to pictures sent back by our friends. The guys were great to deal with and went over the car with me in detail upon delivery. No small feat with a wind chill factor of 9 degrees. The car was a little dirty, but it was only dark dust which was easy to see on a white car. It hosed of easily (when it got warmer) and was not unexpected with the dry dusty states it had to travel through. The trailer was enclosed but not hermetically sealed. No one has that available that I know of. If that is an issue, an inexpensive car cover would work out well. Sure beats the mess my friend had in transporting his car in an open hauler. All in all, our experience with Ship a Car Direct was a very satisfying experience and would use them again.

Thanks for the great feedback, Mike, you bring up some great points! Many folks are a bit put off by the broker concept, but a reputable broker is your best bet for an easy and safe transport. And no, we don't know of any enclosed carriers that are hermetically sealed either - but we'd love to hear of any! :)
