Honesty First Failed to Deliver

Tom was very knowledgeable and explained the process. It seemed real good at first, but there was a disconnect somewhere between Honesty First and the carrier, WeContinue Auto Transport LLC. We made sure our agent had the carrier sign off that they were paid, at first they didn't. The carrier did not know where Matson was in Long Beach. They also did not contact us when delivery was made. I e-mailed and called, and Tom confirmed delivery of our van. We were concerened about all this, but the vehicle arrived in pretty much the same condition it left us in. NOTE (and this is the crux of the review) Apparently Door-to-door really means Door-to-Port for Honesty First , eventhough I signed a form sent to me from Honesty First stating "I , (my name) authorize Matson to release my vehicle to the trucking company specified below by Honesty First Auto Transport." I signed saying Matson could release my vehicle and Honesty First was to arrange delivery. Honesty First did not deliver. My car sat at Matson for four days. Matson contacted Honesty First expecting them to come pick it up- as per our contract and mutual understanding. Not only did Honesty First not deliver according to our written agreement, they neglected to give us a courtesy call and let us know Matson had contacted them to come pick it up. Fortuneately, the first four days of storage are free. Our extended rental car was not. I called Tom at Honesty First and he said he didn't "have any trucks in Hawaii" to deliver my vehicle. He hung up rather abruptly after that. I was told by another broker that typically, other companies contract with local companies on the island to make good on the delivery- but it's expensive. I thought this is what Honesty First was offering with their "Door-to-Door" quote. I thought "door-to-door" meant just that. Honesty First failed to deliver honesty-first. It was 22 days from "door" to where I had to pick it up at Matson.

She is correct. BIG misunderstanding, which Tom tried many times to get her to understand, but clearly the confusion continues. Good lesson to learn if you are moving to or from Hawaii, though. We pick up right from you and take it right to Matson (or the company of your choice). Same in reverse, from Matson and to you IF you are here on the mainland. Once we drop to Matson Going TO HI (or any other) we have handed off to another company. This is the first time in all our years anyone has been confused about their need to pick up from Matson. Hopefully this review can help others to avoid the same confusion. And our apologies on Tom's behalf. He is great but can get short when trying to explain something for the 10th time. (Don't we all?) Hope this review helps.
