I read all of the reviews about transport companies and honestly was not looking forward to the experience. I was buying a Porsche in CA with really no other option than to have it transported to Florida. It just seemed that every company would have one or two good reviews and 5+ bad. This was obviously just one of the service based industry that misses the 'service' part completely (along with cellular, banking, etc.).

So I flew out, looked at the car, bought it, and then submitted for quotes online and they were anywhere from $900 to $1500. Based on the fact that all of these companies are brokers, I figured there was little difference between low and high priced so I started with the lower to mid priced folks. Since I bought the car and it was ready at that exact moment, my strategy was to find someone who could immediately dispatch a pickup request and find a truck that was already rolling through the area. I made contact with 3 or 4 companies and Erin at Secure was the only one that actively sought to locate a truck prior to my commitment. This was great service as all others just gave their standard lead times with some stating that everyone else would simply do the same thing - I definitely saw that lack of service come through in several others which was nice to be able to so easily take them out of the running. So Erin found me a truck, the driver actually showed up a couple of days early and him and I had good communications throughout the process so everything was great. The driver then arrived when he said he would and the car was filthy but I selected open hauler so it's not their fault it rained.

The problem arose when the driver showed me a bill for $800, which was a document that was straight from Secure, but I had already paid them $150 so this was $25 too much. I paid the driver because I could tell it was not his fault and honestly, I was just happy to have my Porsche! I figured with all of the great service this would not be an issue. Actually, I was going to tell them to just keep it but I decided to test them. I sent Erin an e-mail which is how we had dealt with everything previously, and no response. I e-mailed another couple of times and nothing. Never a response at all. So that's where I left it. I don't have time to bicker over $25 but the sad part is that they could have come out of this with me going on every message board telling about the great experience but now here I am not recommending them because of a very clear and simple mistake!!! I also know if I pushed it I could get the money back but again, not really the point.
