I recently had to ship a 29 foot school bus 1600 miles from ID to TX. It was partially renovated and was to become a full time RV/home on wheels that fit my needs as a wheelchair user. I worked with Andrew Kane of Safeed's Transport, who was phenomenal with explaining the process and updating me on the progress of finding a carrier and market cost fluctuations. It was proving extremely difficult to find a transportation option, especially where it was the week after Thanksgiving and at first it was thought a winch was needed as the pickup location hadn't gotten the bus to drive yet. Andrew was available for questions and updates. He was extremely up front and honest. For an industry like this, Safeeds was one of the only companies that didn't try to mislead me on the cost. They didn't undercut the cost and then charge more later. Andrew was trying to get the best cost possible for this less than ideal situation. Andrew worked very hard both inside the bid system and cold calling possible carriers and found someone quickly. I had called about a week before I needed the bus shipped, however that was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. He worked for a week and a half and was the only person who didn't push me to increase the price before it was necessary but still gave his expert opinion on some of the challenges related to the timing and size of the bus so I could make an informed decision. Although no one could get the bus by the following Tuesday for a Friday delivery, he found a carrier that picked the bus up later in the week yet drove through the weekend, in a snowstorm and got the bus to the drop off location by that Monday! The carrier took a video of the whole 360 view of the bus on the trailer and Andrew sent it to me very quickly. Andrew kept me updated the whole time. Andrew also helped sort some issues with the company, where the bus was picked up, and the carrier. I don't know the carrier's name but they were also great. They dealt with some unprofessional, to say the least, people at the pick up location yet still completed the job perfectly. They were given high praise by the company located at the drop off location as well! I own the bus but I'm out of state for both pick up and drop off locations, which are conversion companies. The company where the bus was to be picked up was being difficult and demanded changes to the paperwork at the last minute. Andrew literally had the paperwork reworked and sent to them in a few minutes. There were legal issues between myself and the company that the bus was picked up from and even that Andrew handled extremely well. Then, the pick up company loaded items in the bus that they were not supposed to do. Although it was counter to the contract they signed, they were charged a fee, but the bus was still able to ship with a small fee. It was a huge relief on my part! Andrew kept me in the loop while handling coordinations between the carrier, pick up and drop off location companies, and myself. He didn't get a signed contract and disappear, as many shipping broker companies do. He also kept me in the loop when he didn't have to as the company at the pick up was to pay for the shipping, as I had already given them the money. I could not be happier with Safeed's, and especially Andrew Kane's, dedication, knowledge, kindness, professionalism, problem solving and of course the rapport they have with the carriers they work alongside. Thank you for all your help! You have a customer for life.
