I shipped my car using Phoenix Auto Transport from Boston to Eugene, OR, and could not have had a better experience with it.

My partner and I moved to the West Coast so that she could attend graduate school, and were planning the big event for months in advance. There were a lot of logistics to take care of, and the big one was how I was going to get my car across country. While she drove, I had no one to go with me, and in the end decided to see if shipping my car might be a viable option. It seemed like a daunting tasks, there were a lot of companies, all of whom gave a lot of information and even more sales pitches. I did my research online, comparing companies based on price, as well as if they required deposits up front, upsold insurance, etc. In the end, I choose a few middle of the road-priced companies and got on the phone.

Phoenix Auto Transport was in fact the first company I got a hold of. As soon as I was in communication with Candice, I knew she was the one I wanted to work with. I'd liked the way the company looked on paper; they were on the lower end of the price quotes I was getting, were clear about their procedure and that they required no money until after the car was on a truck. Candice called me after I left a message, and right away we had a good connection. She was based in Washington, but had family in Eugene and visited there frequently. She knew quite a bit about the area, and had a lot of experience with trying to get cars into and out of that part of the U.S. She was very upfront and open about giving me information and answering any questions I had, and had the confidence I was looking for in being able to find a truck. She gave me a breakdown of the price, timeline, and what I should expect through the whole process. I asked a few questions about spending more than what she had quoted me, or purchasing extra insurance, and she told me neither was necessary. She gave me the broad range of what she was seeing for quotes from the actual truck companies themselves, so I knew I was going at about the right price range. I gave her my information, and off she went to find me a truck.

Candice had said from the start that it was hard to get trucks going into Oregon, because there wasn't much freight being shipped out. This ended up being the case with me, but because I knew what I was getting into, I didn't feel lead on by any promises someone had made me. We were in touch on and off up until about a week before my estimated shipping date. We had one or two trucks that didn't end up working out, but in each case she held an optimistic attitude that I appreciated. In fact, we didn't actually confirm a truck until the day before the car actually got picked up, but because she was constantly in touch and keeping me informed, I didn't feel stressed out or worried. She found me a great truck with Motion Auto Carriers. They picked up my car exactly in the window they said they would, dropped if off exactly in the window they said they would, and did a thorough inspection each time.

The only hiccup came from a mistake that I actually made. The total amount was to be $1,225 with a $150 deposit, but I thought the deposit was on top of the total amount. I ended up making the bank check that I used to pay for the car (upon delivery in Oregon) out for the full $1,225 when in fact I only owed them $1,075. In this case, the truck driver assured me that I would get the amount over back (probably in the form of a check), as he was unable to give it to me then. He wrote on my bill of lading paper how much I'd paid so that I had a record of the overage. I immediately got on the phone with Candice who said she would follow up on it for me. At no point did I have any worries that I had lost the extra money, because Candice again seemed confident and assuring that everything would work out well.

I mostly would like to thank Candice for all the hard work she's done for me, and the enthusiasm she showed in working with me. It was a joy to work with her, and she made the long and sometimes stressful process of moving across country that much easier. I absolutely would recommend her and the company to anyone who needs to have their car shipped, and have already said many good things to my family and friends. My partner and I both found it a joy to work with her, and really do hope to see her at the Country Fair next year! Thanks, from Sam and Lena!
