I was searching for the car transportation from PA to MN and I received a descent quote ($500) from "Patriot Auto Transport LLC". After checking the reviews, thought its a good deal and agreed to ship my car from with Patriot Auto Transport LLC. But later i came to know that this price is only applicable till you pay advance money to the broker (Carlos). Once you made $100 of advance payment and shipping date is arrived, he started saying, he is not getting any drivers for that price. I need to pay total of $650 (including his commission) to ship my car. If he would have told the same price earlier, i would not have selected Patriot. I was getting better deals top rated shipping companies. To get the customers, he is quoting less in the beginning and once you pay him advance amount, he will not stick to the price. He also mentioned that he will return $50 from his $100 advance as price is increased for me. Even after 10 days money is not transferred. I am following up regularly, but i am not getting the money back.
Also i had asked to ship my car on 19th May, he agreed for the same and instead of sending the driver on 19th, he sent one driver on 17th May. If he has communicated about driver arriving on 17th, I would have made all necessary adjustment to send the car on 17th. But driver arrived to my home without any prior communication. So I asked him to send driver as agreed for 19th May. When 19th came, he started telling he is not getting any driver to pick the car and price also increased from $500 to $650. Car was picked 4 days later than agreed.
Till the last date of pickup, he will not mention about the price. when the date is arrived, he starts telling he is not getting the drivers for the price he has quoted. You are on the last date and in a hurry to ship the car. You will not have enough time to check other shipping company, so he will make advantage of this and start threatening either i need to pay extra or he will cancel my order. If I was aware of this(price increase or cancellation of my order) on the date of quote, I would have happily rejected his offer and went with other shipping company.
Sharing you my experience, so you are aware of this and make a good decision before agreeing to select this company. Just dont believe low quote, He will not add his commission of $100 to that. So it will be same price as other shipping companies are ready to ship it.
