I had a short time frame to drive and transfer 1 car from Northern CA. to Houston, TX for my son AND have a 2009 Honda picked up and transported back to Benicia, CA. In fact, ALL transactions needed to be resolved within ONE day, Monday, 10/17. I 'googled' for transport quotes on Monday, 10/10 and was slammed with dozens of contacts - it was overwhelming! Quote ranges were from $550. to a whopping $1200! In addition I could only provide seven (7!) days prior notice to secure transport for Monday 10/17. In this business that's ZERO turn-around time. I threw out the low-ballers and the high-rollers, checked out what I could on the remaining handful. It's stressful because you have NO way of knowing WHO you're dealing with and if they are reputable ... The most informative and thorough response by email was from Barbara Secody at Nitro Transport. I called her, explained my needs, and I just knew I was in good hands. She explained everything, plus gave me this website to check them out. Nitro's been around a long time and Barbara knows her stuff. You can be at a disadvantage when pickups are needed ASAP. The transporters can be anywhere in the country, and pricing (read: gouging) can depend on where they are and HOW fast you need it. I was anxious about the process, but Barbara knows the transporters, works with reliable ones, and I was in contract for a Monday 10/17 pick up by Wednesday, 10/12 - remarkable! The process was easy: A deposit to Nitro, then cash (or cashiers check) to the driver upon delivery. The driver called the day before, then called to tell me he was one hour out from pick-up in Houston. (This allowed me time to get my other vehicle smog/safety checked/title transferred/registered before the Honda was picked up at 11 AM). The Honda arrived in No. California five days later, 10/21, in perfect condition. We paid the driver $600 cash, and the deal was done. Nitro WILL take the hassle and anxiety out of this process for you. I'd give them a 10 star rating if there was one.
