We chose MoverJet to secure an open transport truck to move our little electric car we purchased online across the country. We chose them because they had a combination of the best reviews and the lowest quote, however the actual price ended up being the highest of all the initial offers of all of the other broker’s quotes - and almost twice as much as MoverJet’s initial quote, not because of their fees, but because MoverJet’s business approach seems to be to lowball the truckers, securing the customer with unrealistic price points, and then wear the customer down with either no leads or leads that don’t go anywhere, and tell the customer the prices will only get higher. Good thing we weren’t in a big hurry, the whole process took more than 3 weeks. I felt bad for the elderly sellers of our vehicle in California being on hold for a trucker willing to drive to Kentucky. At one point Jordan Lewis seemed frustrated that drivers didn’t want to come from California to Louisville, Kentucky and hinted we could get better offers if we drove two hours away to Indianapolis. We offered to do that, and got a better (not great) quote and that one fell through even after I received an email that all parties had signed the contract. We decided for our own convenience we’d rather wait and have it delivered to Louisville. I had no idea being centrally located (even UPS has a hub here!) and being on the nexus of Interstate 64 and 65 would be a no man’s land for truckers. I also felt bad for the seller as the trucker finally willing to come to Kentucky kept our seller on hold for over 48 hours past the agreed upon pickup window. Overall, Jordan Lewis was polite and super responsive. And the truck driver, Marc, was very polite, careful with our little car, and even willing to accommodate a special delivery site at the time of delivery. It sounds like a complicated business, and we appreciate everyone’s help. All’s well that ends well.
